The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot with smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its run time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also self-empties and automatically refills its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.
The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most advanced robot vacuum to date. Its biggest advancement is an obstacle detection system that uses built-in AI to recognize objects like charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often go through). It's the first robot to provide you with a picture of an object that it encounters, meaning you can tell that it is safe to avoid it.
best robot vacuum is the best robot mop that we have ever tested. It removes dirt and spills quickly, leaving no trace that it was there. It's easy to control using the iRobot Home app that allows you to schedule cleaning times and create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't clean areas you do not want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it by voice.
Its design is also a step above the competition and features a sleek, top piece that appears more like a toy robotic rather than a loud, loud one. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System self-empties, which is great to speed up cleaning.
In our tests, we found that the j7+ quickly eliminated dirt, dust and hair from pets. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in its place instead of scattering it across the floor. It was able to capture sand, small gravel and even a little grit. Most robots can't do this. And all this without getting tangled up in our pet's shedding hair.
The j7+, although not as intelligent as the $1,217 Roomba S9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and can't clean the stairs, is still an option for those who require both mopping and vacuum. It's not costly and the iRobot App makes it simple to use.
While the iRobot Home app is very easy to use however, we've found it to be less reliable than other apps that use robotic cleaners. It can take a while to download updates, and at times it's difficult to tell whether the update is functioning until you've seen it in the action.
2. Roborock Q5+

When you're looking for a robot vacuum that does more than just clean floors, the best option is probably hybrid. This type of robot typically has a built-in water tank that allows them to mop and vacuum your home at the same time. These bots also come with many additional features like smart mapping and small object avoidance and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. They are expensive at retail, but usually come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock is one of our most loved robot vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. It's their cheapest auto-empty model, and while it doesn't have some of the premium features you'll find on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great choice if you're willing to sacrifice a little to save hundreds of dollars.
The Q5+ is noticeably soft around obstacles like tables and walls, which makes it a great choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in cleaning dust bunnies, which is a problem which many robot vacuums fail. The Q5+'s navigation is excellent, with few misses on walls and corners.
The Q5+, like other Roborock products can be controlled via a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleanings. You can also set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, modify your home map or re-label rooms.
If you choose to purchase the Q5+, it comes with a new auto-empty dock designed specifically to make this robot easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once in place the process of emptying the bin is relatively easy. It also comes with a large LCD display that is great to have when you're creating schedules or changing settings. This feature isn't necessary for the majority of people, but it can help you effectively keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a smart well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of vacuuming and mopping. Its design is among the top in the market however it's quite expensive.
The base station is attractive and is easily hidden when not in use, and the dimensions are quite small. The station's most appealing point is how it automates many tasks and functions that other robots leave up to you. It can keep clean and dirty water, and then electrolyze and heat the water. The majority of other robots require you to do this.
Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive, too. It's the only robot vacuum I've tried that does a good job picking up dirt from floors that aren't. It's also not as loud as the costly Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially when it comes to navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs, meaning it can get stuck or confused in certain rooms or corners of your home. It's not able to climb stairs as well as some competitors, either, and it doesn't have an dock that allows you to set up an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for plush carpets.
The Freo X Ultra robot vac uum and mop is an excellent choice for those who want a robot vacuum that does everything.
But if you want to save some cash or simply don't care about the limitations of this robotic there are many alternatives available which include a variety of eufy models priced significantly less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and offers an identical experience on the app with additional features such as the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and better overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.
4. eufy RoboVac G30
eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of creating robot vacuums that strike a good balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different and offers a powerful cleaning of hard floors and carpets and mopping function too at an affordable price point. It's simple to set up, just snap on one of the side brushes, turn it on and plug in your charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps needed to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. The dock will need to be located near an outlet and have enough space to move.
The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be exact and will fit under many sofas and other furniture with low clearance. best robot vacuum is a little less flashy than some of the rival models, and features a sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs an area in an arc for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to perform cleaning that is not scheduled using voice commands.
The primary aspect that distinguishes the G30 above the rest is the way it cleans. It uses a built-in map to create an image of the non-movable objects that are in its path while retaining what it's cleaned and where it can't access. It will return to the base to recharge and then continues cleaning the area it left.
The sleek G30 has some flaws. The iRobot Roomba is more durable and has lower cost of operation. It charges faster, offers a similar battery life, and performs better on bare carpet or floors with low pile. It also comes with a larger dust bin that doesn't need to be emptied as often and comes with an array of boundaries to restrict it from certain areas. The G30 however is less expensive and is much easier to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't need to be empty as often and has less difficulty handling bulky products like cereal.
